The Artist
Get lucky. Smell dangerous.

From Barracks to Booth
Chayston D'Angelo James didn't start his tattoo career in a shop. He started it in Army barracks, trading ink for stories with fellow soldiers who needed something permanent in a life that was anything but. A folding table, a machine, and whatever downtime they could steal between training, deployments, and the everyday grind of military life — that was his first studio.
He was the guy in the barracks who could turn a rose, a dagger, a name, or a memorial into something that meant something. No fancy setup. No Instagram back then. Just bold lines, solid color, and the kind of American traditional tattoo art that doesn't fade — because it was built to last, just like the people wearing it.
When he got out, he didn't walk away from the machine. He took everything he learned in the service — discipline, attention to detail, and the habit of doing things right the first time — and brought it into the professional world. Today, Chayston is a working tattoo artist creating American traditional and neo-traditional pieces that carry the same bold energy and storytelling he honed in those barracks, now on a bigger stage.
The Art Behind Every Bottle
Every Mr. Lucky scent has its own personality, and Chayston is the artist bringing that personality to life. Each fragrance in our lineup — from Bouncing Betty to Screaming Eagle, Tigers Blood to Liquid Luck — will feature custom American traditional tattoo artwork designed by Chayston, with imagery that matches the scent name, the mood, and the story behind it.
Think anchors and daggers. Swallows in flight. Classic flash designs with bold black outlines and colors that hit like a straight shot of whiskey. This isn't stock art or a logo slapped on a label. It's hand-drawn, tattoo-inspired artwork created by a veteran artist who knows the difference between something that looks cool and something that means something.
The product photos you see today are placeholders. The real artwork is coming — and when it does, every bottle of Mr. Lucky is going to look like it belongs behind the glass of a tattoo shop, ready to be picked up by someone who earns their luck.
Vet Owned. Vet Made. Vet Inked.
Mr. Lucky is a 100% veteran-owned and operated brand. Having a veteran tattoo artist as the creative director of the artwork isn't a marketing decision — it's who we are. Chayston's journey from tattooing soldiers in barracks to designing artwork for a veteran-owned grooming brand is the kind of full-circle story we built this company around.
Every label. Every illustration. Every line of ink that makes it onto a Mr. Lucky product passes through his hands. That's not just artwork — it's a veteran's craft, and it's part of what makes Mr. Lucky different.
